To the delight of many a racing fan, the renowned Clio Cup once again features on the BTCC support package in 2006. This single-chassis tin-top formula offers great entertainment with often frantic race action. Now in it's seventh and final season (for the current shape car, the new model will make its debut in 2007), thrills are always guaranteed for the spectators with this closely fought series. Seen as mini-BTCC cars with their 190BHP 2 litre engines and 6-speed sequential gearboxes, the French hatchbacks never fail to entertain.
In 2006, expect defending teams' champions Total Control Racing, who field a four car lineup, aiming for their third drivers' title in four seasons, to be strong contenders. Add more multi-car lineups from Mardi Gras Motorsport and Jamie Hunter Racing, along with several other teams, the current model Clio Cup is sure to be as good as ever.
