Back to Brands Hatch again then! The championship started at Brands and it’s going to end at Brands. It’s a local track for me and it has generally been good to me at the end of recent seasons, so I would really like to go out on a high again this year.
I’d like to think we can make it into the top five in qualifying, finish there or thereabouts in race one and then go on to get a podium or a win in race two or three. What I don’t want to do is end up in a situation where I’m compromised because I end up getting involved with Colin or Fabrizio. I hope I can qualify towards the front and let all that happen behind me.
The Title fight
It’s Colin’s to lose really. If he can take five points or so out of Giovanardi in the first race then it suddenly becomes much easier for him. I can see there being some desperate moves out there, though.
I’d like to see Colin win it. I think he deserves it. And so do West Surrey Racing. Colin has worked his way up through the ranks and I think winning the championship will mean more to him than it will to Giovanardi.
Bringing it home for the team
Airwaves BMW has had some pretty rough luck in the second half of the season, so I’d like to get the team three good results on Sunday. They deserve to have the cars come home in one piece and if we can pick up some silverware, it would be a great reward for all their hard work.
