Mountune NGTC Engine
If you’re a Twitter user, you’ll understand the concept of ‘trends’. If you were to look at what has trended so far in the 2011 BTCC season, ‘turbo engines’ would be near the top.
Engines are complicated, especially if you’re not from a technical background. That’s why our latest article (Tech focus: Turbo engines explained) attempts to get under the skin the issue, by returning to basics and asking the boss of Mountune, David Mountain, to explain just why a turbo engine has such an advantage.

AmD's VW Golf at the Autosport International show
The Autosport International show always marks a step up in activity ahead of a new BTCC season and 2010 is no different.
There may not have been any revelations at the show this year, but we’ve had new liveries and the first public outing for the VW Golf that AmD are developing for the series.

Jason Plato’s late entry into the 2009 BTCC is great for the championship. Not least because the 2001 champ is great for a soundbite.
There’s no prizes for guessing what he was describing as, “the dullest thing in the world. It doesn’t turn and it doesn’t stop”.
