Gordon Shedden on his FP1 crash Gordon Shedden on his FP1 crash

Sat 2nd April 2011 Gordon Shedden speaks after his FP1 crash that heavily damaged his Honda Civic.

It's probably the worst start we could possibly have had for the new season. These things are sent to try us though. It's onwards and upwards from here. We'll see what we can do.

It's the fastest part of the track and there's not a lot of run off there when you go off at that speed. I think the impact was just over 10.2 Gs. I don't feel too bad. The helmet, the HANS device and the seat all did their job. Obviously you want a fast race car, but you also want a safe race car. The Honda is a cracking piece of kit.

It's a long shot. The car is really, really beaten up. The guys are working mega hard. If anyone in the pitlane can do it, it's our guys. But it's definitely a slightly shorter Civic than it was at 9 o'clock this morning.
