Vauxhall happy with Astra progress

Vauxhall and the Triple Eight team would seem to be suitably impressed with the way the development of the new car is going. The team tested two of the Coupes at Vallelunga last week, and team boss Derek Warwick said that they are exactly where they wanted to be at this stage. To give some idea of how the new car compares, Muller and Plato were lapping 4 secs slower than a Super Touring Alfa (similar spec to BTCC last year), and 3.6 secs faster than a Super Production BMW.
