BTCC STAR AND PEOPLES CHAMPION MATT NEAL SPLITS WITH PEUGEOT
Unfortunately Peugeot Motorsports have failed to raise sufficient funds to run the third car and on
the basis of last in first out Matt finds himself without a drive in the 2001 BTCC.
Matt Neal says " I am naturally disappointed that this drive has fallen through as I felt that my
engineers and I were contributing substantially to the development of the car and in fact have
proved to be the fastest driver of the three. I shall miss my fans friends and colleagues who have
supported me in the last ten years in British Touring Cars and it makes me very sad to be departing
a series which has become such an important part of my life"
BTCC CHAMPION MATT MEAL BACK ON TRACK
Current British Michelin Independent Cup Champion Matt Neal, is not resting for a moment following
his departure from the Peugeot Motorsport Team. He is making a star appearance in the next three
rounds of the FIA European Touring Car Championship at Magny Cours on May 1st. This is followed by
an appearance at the British round of the championship at Silverstone on May 13th before moving on
to Zolder on May 20th. Matt will be driving the Team Dynamics Motorsport Nissan Primera Supertourer,
his championship winning car of last season.
Matt said "In the last few days I and my management company Spiderzone Marketing Group have been
talking with other top teams in and out of the BTCC, Team Dynamics Motorsport have signed me up for
the next two European touring car meetings, with a possibility of adding Zolder. This is fantastic
as it will be wonderful to race under the Team Dynamics Motorsport banner again. The team has always
been very popular with the fans and it is great to think that I will be able to perform in front of
them again in my championship winning Primera. As to the future I have been invited to drive in the
Australian V8 Championship which fills me with much excitement, I am still in discussions with a
number of teams and will be announcing my plans shortly.
