Team PSP has underlined its championship aims with a top-level
appointment. Mike Carroll, recently Director, Opel Motorsports South
Africa, will join Team PSP on 1st March 2003 as its Technical Director.
Mike Carroll has a winning track record in South African Saloon cars with four championship winners to his name in the last six years. He is a qualified engineer with hands-on experience of designing, building and
running successful front wheel drive Touring cars to similar regulations
to those in BTCC.
David Wong, Team Principal, Team PSP said: "I am delighted to have Mike joining Team PSP. Team PSP is ready to win races in 2003 and I am
confident this will be a reality with Mike on board."
Mike Carroll said: "I am very happy to renew my relationship with David and join Team PSP. This will be my biggest challenge yet; BTCC is
arguably the most competitive Touring Car Championship in the world. I'm
comfortable with current UK touring car technology and I'm looking
forward to getting started."
Mike, aged 34, has known David Wong since 1994 when the two joined forces to launch Team Petronas Syntium Opel which raced successfully in
the South African Touring Car Championship from 1999 to 2000 and in the
South African Wesbank V8 Championship in 2001.
Team PSP's lead driver David Leslie said: "I'm looking forward to working with Mike - he has the skills we need to take this team to the
next level - the top step of the podium."
