Team PSP's new 2003 BTCC challenger is set for its first run later this
week. The all-new Proton Impian is developed from the car that took
David Leslie and Team PETRONAS Syntium Proton to four podium places in
2002.
The new car, being built at Team PSP's Norfolk base, will feature
changes to all elements of the car. David Wong, Team Principal, Team PSP
says: "The new car incorporates all that the team learned last year and
some fresh thinking as well - all within the very tight BTCC
regulations. This should give us a great platform for ongoing
development - and give David Leslie and Phil Bennett a bigger stick to
beat the opposition with."
The 2003 Proton Impian BTCC car will feature:
· New roll cage design
· Detail revisions to body aero kit
· New front suspension design
· New rear suspension design
· Modifications to engine internal configuration
David Leslie, the team's number one driver said: "We surpassed our goals last season so our aim of achieving wins this year is higher and
tougher. I'm really looking forward to giving the car its shakedown so
that Phil and I can get into a sensible development programme before the
season kicks off."
