21/04/2003 - Silverstone

Tom Ferrier took part in the Ginetta race series for round one of the 2003 championship. Invited by Ginetta Cars UK, Tom drove the 'Grand Tourismo' sponsored celebrity car.

Qualifying took place at 12.30pm. Tom had not driven this car before qualifying as was eager to get back on track. In the 15 minute session he consistently lapped at the head of the field. Reigning champion Andrew Cork could not get close to the Surrey youngster and at session end found himself in second position, behind Ferrier by a massive 1.6 seconds!

The 10 lap race was taken place in ideal conditions and Ferrier showed a superb display of car control and speed, setting fastest lap after fastest lap. At the end of the lights to flag race win, Ferrier had built a lead of nearly 20 seconds over the second place driver.

The organisers were quick to congratulate Tom on a job very well done and were full of admiration for the 21 year old's talents.

Ginetta Cars UK are hoping to place Tom in the celebrity car at other races during the 2003 season. The race win was Tom's 4th race victory in succession following on from his dominating performances in the Elf Renault Clio winter series.
