Alan Gow returns to the British Touring Car series in the role of Championship Administrator with immediate affect, after being replaced by Richard West back in 2001.
Richard West will now be concentrating his efforts on attracting new sponsorship to the already strong series and he is delighted to see Alan Gow return and is looking forward to working alongside him in order to move the championship forward.
West said, "There is enormous growth potential within the BTCC and TOCATour. I’m pleased that Alan is returning to an active role within the Championship and am sure that together we can achieve considerable success."
Alan Gow brings with him a wealth of experience and knowledge after heading up the team behind the BTCC back in the late nineties which has since been labelled the "good old days."
Gow commented, "We should recognise the success of the Championship and make sure that it remains one of the pre-eminent Touring Car Championships in the world. We need more manufacturers and more Touring Cars on the grid and I intend to use my position as Administrator to the full in order to achieve this. I look forward to working with Richard, the teams and manufacturers to make this happen."
