The brief test was a reward from Halfords team boss Steve Neal for Andrew's impressive performance in the John Guest Racing Honda Integra at Thruxton's BTCC meeting last month.
After a five-lap run on old tyres, Andrew set out on a new tyre run but a suspension problem brought his session to a premature halt.
"It was a fantastic opportunity to try a Super 2000 car," said Andrew, who had been driving his regular Integra throughout the day of tyre testing. "The Civic is quite different to the Integra and it was a real eye-opener. It was also good to see what we are up against.
"Steve Neal was impressed with what I did at Thruxton and this was his way of saying 'well done'. I'm really grateful to Steve and everyone at Team Halfords for giving me this opportunity."
Andrew and his father Mike will resume their programme in the HiQ MSA British Touring Car Championship at Snetterton on 12/13 July.
