Collard and Kane for last HiQ fan forum

Motorbase Performance team-mates Rob Collard and Steven Kane will hope to add to their ever growing fan clubs when they line up at HiQ’s final fans’ forum in Orpington.

The independent stars, along with team manager David Bartrum, will bring a track car to HiQ Orpington in Sevenoaks Way on Thursday September 18, ahead of the final round of the BTCC at Brands Hatch.

The free evening of thrills and spills will take place from 6.30pm to 8.30pm, and will give people the chance to meet the drivers, who are earning rave reviews for their performances in recent weeks.

It is the first time HiQ has ever brought the BTCC to Orpington and it is hoped that hundreds of spectators will make the most of the event.

Admission to the exclusive event is completely free, and free food and drink will also be provided throughout the evening. A number of tickets for Brands Hatch will also be up for grabs, as HiQ prepares for a dazzling evening of fun, which also includes simulator games and a question and answer session with the drivers.

HiQ’s BTCC spokesman James Bailey said: “We have really enjoyed staging our fans’ forums across the country this year. The momentum has grown as the season has progressed and we hope our last 2008 event will be our best.

“We are big admirers of the Motorbase Performance team as well. They have enjoyed a fantastic season, and both Rob and Steven have shown class on and off the track.

Motorbase Performance Team Principal David Bartrum said: “We are really looking forward to seeing everybody at the fans’ forum. We are based nearby in Wrotham so hopefully all fans of the BTCC in the area will come to show their support for their local team.

“Throughout the 2008 we’ve had phenomenal backing and both Steven Kane and Rob Collard have won HiQ Champagne Moments after being voted for by fans, so we’re delighted to have the opportunity to spend time with more Touring Car supporters away from the track.”
