No second driver for Aon or Tempus - yet
Thu 19th March 2009 BTCC newcomers Team Aon and Tempus Sport both have just a single driver named on the official entry list for the 2009 HiQ MSA British Touring Car Championship.
However, both teams are understood to be in the advanced stages of discussions and there is a good chance that each will field an additional car from the opening round of the season at Brands Hatch.
When questioned at today’s Rockingham media launch, Team Aon driver Tom Chilton said, “At the moment I don’t have a teammate, we’re still looking. We have a second driver lined up but we’re still waiting.”
Chilton continued, “Of course it would be good to have a teammate. It’s always better to run two cars. The second car will be ready next week, so hopefully we’ll have two out for Brands.”
Tempus Sport have a single car on track at Rockingham, driven by Harry Vaulkhard, but the team remains hopeful of fielding at least one more Chevrolet Lacetti during the 2009 BTCC season.
