Nash said, “I am disappointed to be missing Knockhill, because it’s a circuit on which I have had some great races and the support from the locals is just fantastic – the atmosphere is always buzzing whatever the weather.
We’ve made some big improvements since my first race at Oulton Park, and as Snetterton proved, both myself and the car have the pace to challenge at the top and finish in the points.
I can’t wait to get back behind the wheel of the Chevrolet Lacetti, but unfortunately funding is limited, so we took the tough decision to miss Knockhill. We are doing absolutely all that we can with RML and our potential sponsors and partners to secure a deal for what I hope will be at least another two events this year. For me, the whole purpose of this season was to prove that I have the speed and capability to run at the front, and to aid the search for sponsors in order to complete the rest of the year and to launch a full 2010 BTCC campaign. I hope my results at Snetterton have shown all the teams and potential partners that I am a serious driver and can deliver on results and speed. My aim for the future is to demonstrate that Snetterton was just the start and not a one off.
The Lacetti should run well on the final three circuits of the BTCC calendar, so I am determined to be back in the car as soon as possible, taking as many points finishes as I can. Judging by our performance at Snetterton, I think it realistic to be aiming for more top five finishes and all being well, the top step of the podium. This year has been a bit of a rollercoaster for me, so I am committed to ending on a high.”
