ETCC cars take on weight again

All ETCC specification cars competing in the BTCC will carry an extra 25kg of ballast at Snetterton. Toca have announced that the base weight of cars built to Super 2000 spec will be increased to 1115kg for front-wheel drive sequential gearbox cars (Seat Toledo, Alfa Romeo 156) and rear-wheel drive H-pattern gearbox cars (BMW 320i), and 1085kg for front-wheel drive H-pattern gearbox cars (Honda Civic Type-R).

This increase means the weight situation has now returned to how it was at Silverstone and Oulton Park.

How the ballast has changed during the season (weights refer to those of the Seat Toledos):

Pre-season: Tested with base weight of 1140kg
April 9th: Base weight reduced to 1090kg ahead of first races of the season.
April 26th: Increase of 25kg to 1115kg after second meeting at Brands Hatch.
June 1st: Base weight reduced again, back to 1090kg in time for Mondello Park meeting.
August 9th: 25kg added back on to base weight in time for Snetterton meeting.

The base weight of all BTCC specification cars is 1174kg.
