Team RAC driver Colin Turkington continues to head the standings with 262 points, but VX Racing’s Fabrizio Giovanardi is now just four points behind on 258. Jason Plato’s two wins already today at Brands Hatch have brought him right back into contention, just four points behind Giovanardi on 252 points.
The three title contenders finished first, second and third in race two and will start together in sixth, seventh and eighth for the final race, with Turkington ahead of Giovanardi and Plato.
Matt Neal starts from pole position after the top eight finishers were reversed to form the grid for race three.
The last time the championship was decided in the final race of the season, it was Giovanardi who came away with the title. That was at Thruxton in 2007 and Giovanardi headed into the meeting nine points behind Jason Plato.
