O'Neill and Sunshine.co.uk confirmed for 2010 BTCC
Wed 6th January 2010 Paul O'Neill will contest the 2010 Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship with the sunshine.co.uk backed Tech-Speed team.
O'Neill, 30, scored a podium finish at Snetterton in 2009 in his ex-Eurotech Honda Integra and he will be looking to move up a step or two in 2010.
"I can't wait for the new season to come", O'Neill told btcc.net. "I genuinely believe we've got a chance of a big result at the first round at Thruxton. It’s a circuit where the Integra has always been very strong plus we came close to a win there last year, my first event back for a few years and I was still a bit rusty. I was lifting in places which, now I know the car better, I know I should have been flat.
O'Neill scored his first BTCC win back in 2002 when he was driving for the Egg Sport Vauxhall team and the fans' favourite is hoping for more success this year.
"There's also bound to be a bit of hot-headedness - there always is at the first round – and maybe that could fall into my lap. It could be my kind of meeting.
"I think we can have a win at Thruxton. I really do. If we don't have a podium I’ll be gutted."
The sunshine.co.uk/Tech-Speed team could have two or even three cars on the grid when the new season gets under way at Thruxton.
