RAC to co-sponsor WSR in 2010 BTCC

Wed 13th January 2010 After four years as title sponsor of the West Surrey Racing BTCC team, RAC will return in 2010 as a co-sponsor.

The announcement by RAC ends speculation regarding the organisation's involvement in the 2010 Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship.

Team RAC claimed the Independent Teams Championship three years in a row from 2007 to 2009, with driver Colin Turkington notching a hat-trick of Independent Drivers crowns. Turkington then went on to become the 2009 Drivers Champion.

Meanwhile, Turkington's 2009 teammate will announce details of his 'Scoop of Jelley' programme at this week's Autosport International show. The scheme will allow fans to buy into Jelley's BTCC effort in return for a structured programme of benefits.
