WSR confirms 2010 BTCC attack

Team Principal Dick Bennetts said, "We've had four great years with RAC as title sponsor and the results on and off track have provided them with an excellent return on investment. We're very pleased they've agreed to carry on as a co-sponsor and we’re looking forward to working with them in 2010.
"We are obviously intending to defend our titles in the BTCC again this year. However, we’re also keeping our options open with regard to the World Touring Car Championship (WTCC) and the new format European Touring Car Cup (ETCC). We’ve got three BMW 320 Si's and we proved in 2009 that we have the resources to run all three cars to the same competitive level.
"As it stands, a golden opportunity exists for a company to take up title sponsorship of the most successful non-works BMW team in Europe."
The announcement from WSR stops short of confirming drivers for 2010, with Bennetts stating, "We'd very much like to retain Colin [Turkington] and Stephen [Jelley]; however we are talking to a number of other drivers for the third seat. We’re not just looking at drivers from ‘tin tops’ either, as Stephen has proved that you don't have to have this background to be a competitive touring car driver."
WSR also announced two new sponsors for 2010: eBay Motors and Alvara.
