Shedden wins after Nash spins out

Triple Eight driver Nash started from pole position after the top ten finishers from race two were reversed to form the grid for race three. Matt Neal joined him on the front row, but bogged down off the line. Nash led from Shedden and Collard for the first lap, but lost control of his Vectra going through Riches at the start of lap two, spinning into the crops on the outside of the circuit.
Shedden inherited the lead and with teammate Neal busy defending from Rob Collard he was able to focus on the clear track ahead of him. Mat Jackson was running fourth, ahead of Tom Onslow-Cole, but the pair made contact at the end of the Revett straight on lap three and dropped down the order. The Focus was forced to pit to repair damage to its left rear door.
The Tech-Speed team completed a tough challenge to get both Sunshine.co.uk Honda Integras out for the final race of the day and Paul O’Neill soon started to pick his way up through the order. His pass on Lea Wood just before the mid-point of the race put the former works driver into the points.
At the front, Shedden’s lead went unchallenged as Neal continued to defend from Collard. The BMW appeared quick but there was no way past – until the last lap. Collard gave Neal a gentle tap as the pair entered the bombhole and was able to squeeze past on the inside and claim second position.
Shedden claimed win number three, ahead of Collard, Neal and Chilton. Jason Plato finished fifth, with Kane sixth and Jackson seventh. O’Neill finished eighth, Pinkney ninth and Neate tenth.
Jason Plato leads the championship standings with 151 points, 20 ahead of Matt Neal. Gordon Shedden is third, a further four points behind, with Kane fourth and Jackson fifth.
