Tordoff will start Sunday's first race from the front of the grid, where he will be joined by eBay Motors' Colin Turkington.

Sam Tordoff said, "I'm totally thrilled. The car is working really well and I feel really good in the car. Together it's a winning combination.

"We had a front row lockout here last year, so we knew we would be quick. It was good to get the time in early. I think most people struggled later in the session. We just need a bit of luck in the race tomorrow." Colin Turkington said, "Rockingham is a real fine balance to get the speed right. I had a spon after one of the Chevrolets went off, but fortunately, I had a banker lap in the bag by then. "I found a couple of tenths on the last run, which was important. The car is handling really well. You get such a short window here with the tyres to get a good time in, but fortunately, we managed it.

"We're at the sharp end and we're not too far away." Full qualifying times from Rockingham.
