Hodgetts to race in Carrera Cup at Croft
Porsche Carrera Cup GB News | Thu 22nd May 2008Stefan Hodgetts will race in the Porsche Carrera Cup GB during rounds nine and ten at Croft (31 May/1 June), making his series debut in the PCGB entry in the pro category.
Hodgetts, who has extensive experience in both single-seaters and saloon cars, has been invited to race the PCGB entry and is determined to make the most of the opportunity to race in the high-profile championship.
"I'm really excited about it and looking forward to driving a 420bhp rear-wheel drive car," said Hodgetts. "Most of my racing in recent times has been in front-wheel drive cars, so it's going to be quite a difference. I want to do the best job I can and deliver a good solid performance. I'm driving for Porsche and I want to do a good job for them."
To date, Stefan's only experience in a Porsche is a handful of laps in a 911GT3 Cup car during a track day. "My experience of these cars is minimal, but I know Croft well, so that's good. Being back on the BTCC package is really important to me and I want to show what I can do in a rear-wheel drive car," said Hodgetts, who previously raced in British Formula 3.
Hodgetts is racing in Spain this season and will be in action at Cartagena the weekend before Croft. He will have his first run in the 2008-model 911GT3 Cup car during testing at Croft on the Friday of the race weekend.
