Rounds 19 & 20 - Oulton Park - BTC Production Practice
BTC Production Qualifying Report

Qualifying at Oulton Park saw a dominant performance from the HTML Peugeot pairing of Roger Moen and Simon Harrison, filling the front row of the grid with Moen on pole. James Kaye put in a fast lap late in the session to take third position in his Team Kaliber Honda Accord. Starting from fourth spot for both races will be Gavin Pyper in the GA Janspeed Alfa Romeo. Mat Jackson qualified top of the GR Motorsport Focus drivers in fifth position, and alongside him is Tiff Needell, making a guest appearance in these two rounds of the championship, in an impressive sixth position, although his car is free of 'success' ballast which is hampering many of the other front-runners. Paul O'Neill was another who left it late, putting in his fastest time towards the end of the session. Gareth Howell set his fastest time fairly early on, and in fact there were few changes towards the end as the track conditions became continually warmer. Rounding out the top 10 on the grid for both of tomorrow's races are winner of the feature race last time out at Croft, Jim Edwards Jnr, and Rick Kraemer in the third GR Motorsport Ford Focus.

The half-hour session brought few real surprises and the grid line-up looks set to lead to action packed racing as ever tomorrow. With the top three on the grid also being the top three in the championship there is sure to be some strong fighting as none will want to be the one to give in, as every point is vital in the race for the championship at this time in the season.
