BTC-Touring Qualifying Phil Bennett took pole position for both races at Silverstone, leaving it until the last possible opportunity to take top spot on the grid for the Sprint. He commented, "Pole is great although with a 60kgs advantage on the other Vauxhalls that's where I should be. I was quite lucky with my pole time for the sprint, it was my last lap and my tyres had already done six laps. I just want to win tomorrow and hopefully I've learnt from my experience last time I was on pole at Croft and make sure I do a better job. Obviously though I don't want to get in either Jason or Yvan's way as punting them off isn't going to endear me to anyone, but, I've got a job to do."
