Team PSP: Team PSP hopes high for home race at Snetterton

With spirits high following David Leslie's superb second place at Croft two weeks ago, Team PSP is working hard to post another good performance in front of its home crowd at the Norfolk circuit this weekend. Both Leslie and Phil Bennett are confident that their PETRONAS-backed Proton Impians will be on the pace and ready for action.

Phil Bennett said: "Watching the re-run of the Croft race on television I couldn't believe how much action there is in BTCC - definitely not for the faint-hearted! I'm really looking forward to racing at Snetterton again; I just hope the weather's better than last year! We found some good performance gains at Croft and hopefully we've nailed the misfire gremlins too. I'm looking for a top-six finish this weekend."

David Leslie said: "Second at Croft was a great result for the team - now we can do it all over again here at Snetterton. We had a good test here earlier this year where we made significant progress on chassis set-up, especially in high-speed corners. That'll stand us in good stead here again, especially with such close racing. Snetterton has two of the longest straights in the country so we can put our straight-line speed to good use as well. We're ready to put on a good show for all our supporters."

Operations Director Peter Gillitzer said: "We're gradually working through a number of minor changes before we commit to the design of the 2003 car. We're looking forward to a good 'home' race programme this weekend."
