Driver Quotes - Feature Race

Driver Quotes - Feature Race

Andy Priaulx: We gambled on coming in early but it worked. I had a really good pace reeled people in and went through. I pushed really hard and I was confident and comfortable in car. Something wasn't right in the Sprint Race but the Feature Race fitted like a glove!

Yvan Muller: I am very happy. I really enjoyed that race even though the conditions were terrible. Priaulx was 10 seconds ahead and it was too much to get back. In qualifying the weight issue didn’t help but I was three and a half tenths behind pole which with the 66kg more wasn't bad. If I'd have started higher than tenth then I'd have finished better. I’m not fast here in the dry. I prefer wet conditions here.

James Thompson: Yvan and I had a good scrap. We were side-by-side for about a lap. The key thing was to finish the race as it’s so easy to make a mistake in the conditions because it was so slippy and I couldn't see a thing. Knockhill is always a nightmare for me. I've been injured here before and I've had things go wrong here in past so this weekend has been very pleasing. I didn't want to squander my lead easily and it was important not to take risks and get involved in incidents that could be avoided. I've got an engine change to make which means my lead will be cut from 24 points to just 19. It's a little bit of a cushion but just when you think you have a substantial lead it gets taken back. It’s frustrating but I'd rather have a lead than be chasing. It means one slip from Yvan and I’m in the driving seat but one slip by me and we’re neck and neck again.

I wouldn’t be surprised if it goes down to the wire at Donington. From my point of view, Brands Hatch is going to be a nightmare! It's always close there and the whole field is usually split by half a second. I've got to finish and finish as close to Yvan as possible. It’s all to play for!

Mark Fullalove: It’s great to be on the podium again. It’s been a while coming now, since Oulton Park. I’ve been in the top three a few times and the cars let me down. I think I could’ve had a couple more podium finished this year than I have done, but that’s just the way it goes sometimes. Obviously I’m glad it all came together today. I was out braking myself in the first race. The whole team deserved a good result. They’re 100% behind me and I want to give them results. It’s brilliant.

Norman Simon: I’m very happy with that. Again I had the same problems with my windscreen fogging up after 3 laps. I drove virtually blind for the whole race so I just concentrated on staying 2nd and getting some points. I’m very happy to get the points. Gavin has been too fast all weekend so we are happy. We’ll see what we can do in the last few races.

Gavin Pyper: I'm Really pleased. Its been an up & down season for us so far. To come to Scotland and get two poles & two wins is a dream come true. I quite like the wet and we managed to get the car handling well in the second race. A great weekend on the whole. Couldn’t have gone any better.

Tom Chilton: That's a very good result. I enjoy wet conditions, and this circuit’s particularly hilly and slidy so it played in to my hands quite nicely. The Vauxhall is one of the best cars in the wet and I’m really pleased with how I performed. The team did a good job with the car, no dramas at all. Roll on next race. The drive through penalty was a safety issue about some guy standing on one side of the car or another. It got wiped out because it was completely a safety issue. It got taken off.
