Two action packed races at Donington Park provided a spectacular finish to the 2002 BTCC season. Vauxhall Motorsport's James Thompson emerged as the 2002 Champion after winning the sprint race and seeing his team-mate Yvan Muller retire from the feature. James Kaye clinched the Production title ahead of Norman Simon, and Dan Eaves was crowned Independents Champion for Team Halfords. Both races were full of excitement and provided a fitting end to a great season for the revitalised BTCC.
