James Thompson suffered a blow to his championship chances today as he suffered an engine failure in the second free practice session at Donginton Park

Thompson has already used more than the 4 allocated engines for the season and under BTCC rules a replacement engine will cost him 5 championship points, "I just don't seem to have my fair share of the luck this season, it's so frustrating." he said.
