Phil Bennett's strong finishes lightened Team PSP's mood after David Leslie's car proved troublesome all weekend with a misfire which proved terminal for round 20. The team will now work flat out to get the 2004 prototype onto the track for a full test programme in readiness for an all-out challenge in BTCC next year.
David Leslie: "This is a disappointing end to a hard season. I'm sorry for the lads that despite their hard work the misfire I endured all weekend stopped me scoring points on the last outing of the year."
Phil Bennett: "I was glad to get two competitive finishes under my belt and I'd like to thank my engineers for all their hard work this year."
Mike Carroll (race director): " The misfire on David's proved impossible to cure - we'll investigate further back at base. We now need to get our new car out and running as soon as possible."
David Wong (team principal): "Overall, I'm pleased with the team's performance this season. Now we must look forward to next year with our new PETRONAS-backed car. We have a busy winter ahead."
