Team PSP: "Luck o' the Irish" for Team PSP at Mondello?
Team PSP is hoping for a touch of Irish luck at Mondello Park on 12/13 June to reward the team for the promise it has shown so far this season in BTCC. The team plans to introduce some changes to their PETRONAS-backed Proton Impian racers to reinforce their challenge to the front-runners.
Fariqe Hairuman said: "I'm keen to stay away from Mondello's kerbs and keep the car on the island. I'm picking up pace with every outing - I'm targeting top-ten finishes amongst the experienced drivers."
Shaun Watson Smith said: "We've got a great car which I know hasn't yet been allowed to show its full potential. Mondello is a long circuit with some challenging corners, so I'm glad I've had a couple of days' acclimatisation there. I expect to be on the pace and working on the setup as soon as we get on the track. We're going for it at Mondello."
Mike Carroll, Chief Engineer said: "We had a good two-day test at Mondello before the start of the season and we are hoping to make one or two significant changes to the car before the event. However we're currently strongest in medium to high speed corners and Mondello is dominated by very tight slow corners so we'll be working to find a good compromise setup."
David Wong, Team Principal said: "We've run well at Mondello in the past so I'm confident we'll put on a good show here. The outright speed is coming - we need some good fortune to allow us to turn track performance into results."
