Yvan Muller: "It was important to do a quick lap early in the session. That was a quick lap, especially with a heavy car. It’s probably not the worst circuit to carry weight around though. During the two practice sessions we only worked on the race set-up, not for qualifying. We knew what to do for the qualifying set-up from past experience. I don’t know why we are a second slower than last year...maybe tyres are a bit different, or maybe it is because last year we were light because it was the first race of the year."

James Thompson: "It was a bit of a shocker really. I just had a real lack of grip out there. I’m a little bit puzzled to be honest. We missed a bit of time in last session, and we had to guess the set-up for qualifying, and we will have to guess a bit for the race balance as well. I certainly don’t want to race the car as it was in that session. I’m glad to be fourth though, because it could have been a lot worse."

Shaun Watson-Smith: "When I saw the 47 dead I got quite excited, but there were still a few who were quicker. It was the best I could do though. It’s our best position of the year. I’m particularly happy with progress, given our position within the field. A good result tomorrow would top it off. We do believe in ourselves, and we believe in car. It’s just a matter of time!"
