Yvan Muller: "It was a hard race!"
After fending off Anthony Reid to take his fourth win of the year, Yvan Muller told how it not an easy victory: “It was a tough race. I was already surprised to be on pole with 42kg and it was even more of a surprise to win the race. It was very hard work. There are a lot of opportunities to overtake on this circuit”
“Nobody has won a race with full ballast so far this year. So that’s two good surprises in a weekend.”
Following Muller throughout the race, often right on his tail, was Anthony Reid. Reid has taken much criticism so far this year for his ‘robust’ driving, and indeed, his license now features a number of endorsements. However on this occasion, Muller had nothing but praise for the Scotsman: “For once he drove very well. He proved he can drive well. During the race, you don’t have time to enjoy it, so you enjoy it more after the race.”
With that victory, Muller moves into an 11 point championship lead over Thompson, but with two races remaining here at Mondello Park, there is still much to race for!
