Qualifying results - Saturday 8 May, Silverstone

Continually changing weather conditions caught out many drivers during practice and qualifying for Round 7 of the 2004 BTCC - including Team PSP's newcomers Watson Smith and Hairuman. The team has had little wet-weather running with their 2004 PETRONAS-backed Proton racer until today, but is confident that they will have good race pace for the three rounds tomorrow.

David Wong (Team Principal): " We learned a lot today about setting up our new chassis for wet and damp conditions, and played the lottery to choose which tyres we needed for the qualifying session which was run in damp and drying conditions. We'll be in better shape tomorrow."
