The first race of the day at Snetterton saw a Chilton victory, but Vauxhall will have to wait a little longer for their 100th BTCC win.

This was a win for Max Chilton in the T-Car championship. Tom’s younger brother drove calmly in very tricky conditions to win a race that was red flagged after a series of accidents caused by a heavy downpour.

Max led the early stages of the race, but was then passed Luciano Bachetta who held the lead until the final lap. Unfortunately for Bachetta, he went aquaplaned at Riches, leaving the path clear for Chilton.

The red flags came out before the young drivers could make it to the end of the final lap, as Alex Brundle, son of former F1 driver Martin, joined Bachetta in the tyre barrier at Riches. Only four of the nine starters finished the race.

After the race, Max Chilton said, “I’ll watch Tom’s races later…I’ll be telling him what to do!”
