Mat Jackson took his first BTCC victory in the third race at Oulton Park. The independent driver fended off the advances of Jason Plato in the closing stages of the race to hang on for the win. In the championship, Plato and Vauxhall's Fabrizio Giovanardi enter the second half of the season tied on 149 points leaving everything to play for in the final five meetings.
