In the lead up to the start of the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship, an enormous amount of work has taken place to improve the two IS200 Lexus of the BTC Racing Team. Although the team haven’t tested the cars in the run up to the first race, they have spent the time working on areas that should help the cars take vital steps up the grid during qualifying.

Nick Leason commented: “The past few weeks have been really exciting in the build up to the first race at Brands Hatch and I am looking forward to seeing how our cars perform. We have high expectations of an improvement in the cars from last year’s performance and feel that the work we have undertaken over the past few weeks will pay dividends during qualifying and the race. I would like to hope that we are aiming for the middle of the grid.”

Chris Stockton, who raced the final two rounds of the BTCC in 2006 in the Lexus, is more than happy with the improvements that have been made in the run up to Brands Hatch.

“We didn’t test the cars in the weeks prior to Brands Hatch as we felt that the development work was more important than testing at present. It is a gamble but hopefully we will be wiser on Sunday when we see if our hard work has paid off! I am really enthusiastic about improving our performance from the final races of 2006.”
