All change at Snetterton

Sat 1st August 2009 Six weeks is a long time in the BTCC and it's no surprise that there are a few changes at Snetterton this weekend. Here's a summary...

Maxtreme
McMillan missing again. Liam’s debut BTCC season woes continue as he struggles to overcome issues with engine builder Oreca. The Spanish firm held on to the Toledo’s engine in a bid to recover money allegedly owed by the car’s previous owners BTC Racing and McMillan has never really recovered.

Cartridge World Carbon Zero Racing
Shedden in for Eaves. Not for the first time in his BTCC career, Dan Eaves has lost his seat to Gordon Shedden. This time the Scot joins Cartridge World CZR driving one of their SEAT Leons alongside Adam Jones for the rest of the season.

Bamboo Engineering
Same car, new name. Harry Vaulkhard’s Chevrolet Lacetti will be run by the Bamboo Engineering team for the remainder of 2009 after parting with Tempus Sport. Team boss Richard Coleman and many other key personnel remain in place.

Team Sunshine.co.uk
Only one car this weekend. With Martyn Bell sidelined through injury, Paul O’Neill is out on his own at Snetterton for Team Sunshine.co.uk.

Team Aon
Just one Ford Focus this weekend, with Tom Chilton at the wheel. Further developments have been applied to the car since the last outing at Croft.

Racing Silverline
A new sponsor. Matchthedeal.com is a new car sales website, designed to take the hassle out of buying a car. You enter the make and model you’re looking for and it’s matched against a database of vehicles available from participating dealers – who have already inputted their very best price, so there’s no need to haggle!

Snetterton circuit
New kerbs at the chicane! A second kerb was added to the first part of the Snetterton chicane earlier this week. The kerb is inside the existing kerb and is significantly raised. In this morning’s opening session it appeared to be causing concern for a number of drivers, who were forced to alter their line through the corner in order to avoid the bump.
