Proton The Impian is the Malaysian marque's first entry in the BTCC, and there will once again be 2 Team PSP cars on the track in 2003. A powerful car in the hands of real professionals.

Body: Steel construction. Four door. Computer optimised roll cage for high torsional rigidity - in-house design, manufactured by Custom Cages.

Engine: 16v, 4 cylinder in line, transverse installation. Prepared by Mountune
Capacity: 1996cc capacity (derived from 1.8 litre production engine)

Oil cooling: Oil to air heat exchanger

Lubrication: Wet sump. Petronas Syntium fully synthetic lubricant

Front: Racing design McPherson struts with lightweight lower wishbones and anit roll bar. Ohlins damper units & Eibach coil springs
Rear: Lightweight multilink system with anti roll bar & coil springs. Ohlins damper units & Eibach coil springs
