| "Vic Lee has a long history in saloon car racing as a driver, engineer and team owner. In the late 1970's his cars were winning at club level which eventually led to a factory deal to run Group 'N' Volkswagens. This partnership soon saw British Championship victories in 1985, 1986 & 1987. The development of the team led to the role of running the BMW M3 of Jeff Allam in 1990, which resulted in 2nd position in the championship ahead of the works cars! The team fielded four BMW M3s in 1991, two for 'Team Securicor' with drivers Will Hoy and Ray Bellm and two for 'Labatts' with Tim Harvey and Laurence Bristow. Will Hoy was crowned the British Touring Car Champion that year. 1992 saw the team gain the very prestigious full works team status from BMW which involved developing and running the E36 coupe for Steve Soper, Ray Bellm and Tim Harvey who was crowned as the 1992 British Touring Car Champion.
Vic Lee was also responsible for the Peugeot Super N programme in both the UK and Asia. The Peugeot 306 GTI was developed so well in 1999 and 2000, winning both the Manufacturers and Drivers Championship, that it is now the car every Production class team and driver want, and is seen still leading the field this year.
Since Vic Lee confirmed his partnership with Peugeot Sport his company has been based in the Stoke plant part of Peugeot competitions, where the new highly acclaimed 406 Coupe, which has been making its debut in the new look BTCC has been designed and built." |
